A Volunteer Run Organization
MAVIN is led by a core group of committed board members and dozens of highly skilled volunteers. If you're interested in getting involved, please email us. We'll be happy to hear from you.

 

Our volunteers and interns have the opportunity to become familiar with the coordination of a national non-profit organization, make connections with professional and community members in the mixed heritage movement, and refine competencies in communication, organization, and project planning.

 

  • Website Management:  Assist with maintenance, cataloging and updating of the Mixed Heritage Center (MHC) website.
  • Membership Database Management:  Assist in the organization and management of a 10,000+ member database.  Duties include but are not limited to identifying specific categories for membership organization and the collection of demographic information.
  • Program and Event Development: Assist the Board of Directors in the planning and coordination of various fundraising, social, and educational events.
  • Graphic Design:  Assist with developing and editing innovative promotional materials for the various MAVIN projects and events.
  • Grant Writing:  Receive experience and guidance in identifying, communicating with, and submitting grants to foundations and institutions for a 501(c)(3) certified organization.
